me and a group of guys race in local parking lots around our town. we all run nitro cars most of the time. last week there was a guy from the next town over and he brought one of his xrays. none of us even had a chance against him. he kept running us down like it was nothing. i started looking at xrays and now i want to get one. what is the fastest any of you guys got your xrays? and what setups do you have?

If you are talking about straightline speed really any car will do. X-ray's are proper on road racers so they shine in the handling department.

You can hit 80 with any car really.

YEAH ANY CAR CAN GO 80 BUT I GOT A 4 TEC 3.3. ITS BORED OUT, IT HAS A PIPE, INTAKE AND CUSTOM CLUTCH AND GEARS. IM RUNNING 85 AND HE CAME FLYING PAST ME. THATS WHY IM ASKING HOW FAST PEOPLE GOT THERE X RAYS GOING. HE MUST BE DOING 90+?

There is no reason to cyber-scream.

By race do you mean speed runs? Just because he has a Xray doesn't mean it's faster. It's his setup and/or driving skills.

A good brushless system with lipos can get going fast in a straight line, xray or not. Xrays are excellent cars(expensive too) but if you are looking to just go fast in a straight line you can get a less expensive car then invest in a good brushless/lipo setup.

i have got mine as fast as 63 mph.. with the vortex 3.5 and a 2 s lipo..
