Default Trapeze type bomb carriers?

I believe this type of swing down release was used by a number of WW II era planes of several countries. It appears the bomb was held in a circular frame attached to the carrier which swung down. I don't understand how the actual 'release' was accomplished. Got plans for a Stuka and would like to replicate the action. Any ideas? Thanks, Bill S.

If your plane is around 1/4 scale Robarts makes a trapeze bomb release.

Found this picture on the web, hope it makes it a little more clear on what the trapeze looked like on the Stuka.
