RE: engine-roto start
The SS kit only comes with the pullstart. I think the Ready-to-run comes with the roto-start engine backplate assembly & roto starter handheld driver unit (and no pullstart).

RE: engine-roto start
SS Kit is a pullstart but you can buy a conversion to convert from pullstart to rotostart. Thats what I have.
Not sure I understand your last question. If it has a rotostart on it, all that does is replaces the pull start assembly. The pullstarter attaches to the crankshaft inside the engine. When you yank the pullstart, the crankshaft spins and moves the pistons. A rotostart just removes the cord and replaces it with what looks like a hex head type bolt. You insert the rotostarter shaft (rotostarter is like a fast cordless screwdriver) into the hex type bold and the rotostarter spins it.
I agree with Liv4RC - if it comes with a rotostart assembly on the engine, it also comes with the rotostarter. You would only need a 7.2V battery to operate it.
