I use the Garmin Nuvi 1300 wide screen. I made a body dedicated for it. I padded the area behind the windshield with self adhesive heavy felt and cutout a piece of high density closed cell foam that the gps fits into. A couple of holes in the lower and upper part of the windshield area lets me use two HD zip-ties to secure the gps inside the body and snuggly to the padded area around the windshield. I then drilled a couple of strategic holes in the windshield so I could use the eraser end of a pencil to reset the maxx speed and such. It works great and have even took a few high speed cartwheels with no damage to the gps what so ever.

If you use a hole in the windshield for airflow to the engine for cooling, the gps will block all flow in that area and you will have to cut the front bumper area of the body high enough to get some air in. I normally don’t cut the windshield for airflow so it wasn’t an issue for me.

RE: Looking to get a good GPS
Alright... thanks snook, my body has a flat bed, so i still had to cut out a hole for the cooling head... which meant that i didn't need to cut holes in the wind shield..
