Anyone know how to make these engine put out better. Im only getting 6400 with a 20-10 wood prop on a 30 SD yak. that prop was recomended by benett the guy I bought it from. Shouldnt that engine hit 7500 on that prop. 40 to 1 Klotz gas

Ok, I tried a 22x610 and didnt like the performance. I have a 19# lanier Cap232 my engine weighs about 5.25# its a pig Dick Bennett told me to run a 22x10 I get pretty good performance but not like DA50 or similar my buddies planes have way better vertical. they also run Vess and Xoar props. you should be running premium fuel, I like Amoco Gold best get it at BP. You should have about 120psi compression if you dont that might be the problem. How old is the engine? mine is about 250 years old or maybe old as dirt but it still runs good it just heavy and doesnt have the power of the new class 50cc engines most new engine are reed vale some rotary but the quadra is piston port, (old shcool) technology they're better suited to scale planes. What plane do you have it on?

Yes, by comparison the older design Quadra engines lack performance .... but not because they are piston ported!

Truckracer, I've got a Quadra 52, that I changed the jug around . The airplane I wanted to put it in had a Fox 3.2 that had the carb on the other side, so I turned the jug and piston 180 degress and after turning it, it now turns an 18X8-14 73-7400 rpms. When the carb was on the other side it only ran 66-6700. Hanko and I have discussed this, wonder if it's a fluke or is there something to turning the jug around?
Anybody else ever try it? I would be interested if sombody else would try it to see what happens.
