I like what the four guys in the video are doing. They are working together with their two organizations, FTCA and FPVFC, to advance the possibilities of locations that are not subject to the AMA membership. Granted, they are using the video as a recruiting tool but, at the same time, they are laying out their strategies and plans for the near future, something the AMA leadership keeps close to the vest.

I’m all for the advancement of the hobby and multiple CBO’s hopefully will create that. However flying sites for the most part are not going to happen without liability insurance. I know we have hit on this subject before, nothing has changed.

No arguments on that. I just find it interesting that the two groups are working together WITHOUT the AMA. Not sure if it's the fact that they don't want to be "tied to the hip" with the AMA or if the AMA doesn't want to work with them. I think it would be interesting to find out

I think that Hanson and his group want to stay distanced from the others. He may think that they will eventually fade away. There are some obstacles they will have to overcome, insurance being just one. I’m interested to see if Flite Test continues to post videos of unsafe operations. Not claiming that there aren’t AMA members that need to clean up their act but they need to be on the same page in regards to safety.
