Default Faster Truck

I am looking to get my current truck to go faster, or a new one that will really fly. Because I already fly RC planes I have all chargers and batteries lying around so I have an electric car as well.

My first option would be to modify my Duratrax Evader ST which is completely stock at the time. I happened on a better ESC that will handle down to a 13 turn motor and thought about picking up a 15 turn to get some good speed out of it. With this option I would suffer lower run times as I run in grass a lot and it does bog sometimes. I am also not sure if I need to change the stock gearing but I was considering getting a smaller pinion to help improve run a bit and 3000 mah cells to replace my current 1500 mah cells.

My second option is an HPI RS4 MT which is still electric but four wheel drive, which I think may get me more speed in grass but cost a lot more than modifying my current truck.

So what do all you experts recommend. Mind you this is for complete crazy jumping and bashing and I want to stay on the cheap to keep the cost down and the wife happy.

Thanks!

bang for buck the hotter motor seems like the way to go, if you get the HPI you can always swap the electronics onto it.....

I have one too but mine works fine, did you put it in straight and proper, did you check your steering trim.

Yeah, I have Deans already, knew about them from my planes.

Putting a 15 turn with an 17 tooth pinion in the evader, should help a lot.

This is odd.

Put a Venom 15 turn motor in it and replaced the stock 20 tooth pinion with a 16 tooth. Now the speed is about the same, and the run time is down. Batteries are very hot after a run too.

Maybe I should go to a 23 turn motor and a larger pinion?

Any Ideas?
