Default Small plane

I just bought a 23% edge! It has a 74 inch ws. Is that big enough to compete in imac.

dont worry about the size of the plane,if you never flew IMAC,start small...go to contest ,watch and learn, ask questions and ask for pointers, and help.True...bigger does fly better...but i have seen guys fly the pants off of other's with a smaller plane.Dont be intimidated by the size of your competitors airplane....when you fly at a contest..compete against yourself and have Fun.

The second position in advanced in NE region is held by a guy that flew a 73" Cap 232. Be sure to puit a big engine, good high speed servos and most of all keep your plane LIGHT.

Also, what is said above is great advice IMO.

It was a scratch built lighter-than-Matt-Chapman-Cap-232. It has airfoiled tail surfaces and weights 11 lbs ready to fly less fuel. YS 140 DZ on 30% nitro. Hitec coreless digitals on all flying surfaces and coreless Futaba on throttle.

With this engine, you could get loads of speed for uplines but as soon as there is snap and you have to continue STRAIGHT UP, you loose lots of speed. The YS is not too much engine for a scale aerobat at this weight. For the lower classes, it must be well enough though.

My Plane may be on the heavy side (gasser). But it will be backed up by power. It will get a roto 35 w/ hitec coreless high torque digitals! Got the plane on friday, I think it should be a good imac and ok 3d!

May I ask what plane manufacturer produces this plane?? This is the size plane I am looking for, 74 inch wingspan on an edge wing should have a decent wingloading for this size plane.

Thanks in advance,

Dang_it

I second the 24% ca extra...keep it light and it is a great flyer...It will accelerate while rolling straigt up...vertical line snaps are no problem.

73" wingspan
9.5 lbs.
Hitec servos
YS140 sport

This engine is so nice.
Still waiting on money for servos! I dont think this bird will be ready for 1 to two months. IF anyone has any servos thats might fit the plane for a little less money it would greatly making an offer. Right now my 14 year old budget doesnt have 300 for new equipment lol!
