Default identify this HPI NITRO 4X4

I am new to the RC world and was given a nitro 4x4 HPI it needs some work but I need to identify it so I can order the parts I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was told the car was bought 7 yrs ago brand new.

HPI MT2 or possibly the earlier RS4 MT. But most likely an MT2

Definitely a MT1
Had 2 of them
Shock towers, body mounts, and lack of a front bumper, and lack of a reciever box are big tell tale signs. Even has the stock Proline dirt hawg tires. BTW I still have a set of those tires in use that came on a MT1 I got 2 years ago they seem to last for ever.
I doubt it was bought 7 years ago as they stopped making it I think it was in 2000. Or they got one that was left on the shelf
Weird thing is it looks like it has the RS4 MT Racers engine unless they bought the tires off the original MT1 to slap on it.

If you look in the MT2 thread on the nitro stadium truck forum somewhere within the last 50ish pages I listed MT2 parts that will fit on it, and any modifications if needed as MT1 parts are kind of hard to find.

forgot here is a link to the instruction manual
http://www.hpiracing.com/instructions/instruct-nmt.htm

Be glad you do not have the .15Fe engine that originally came with it as that engine was a complete pile of crap.

The pull start on the motor says 15fe not sure if that is the motor type or not. I have disassembled it and all looks good the pull start needs to be replaced but I will be putting an electric stat on it if possible.</p>

don't go with the roto starts they are crap.
I made that mistake when I 1st got into nitro made my life hell, and trashed an engine (engine hydro locked, and roto start got stuck on and in the engine and cracked the con-rod [:@]). That and also after a few starts the battery would die, and I'd be SOL.
I learned if you can't get the nitro to start by the 3rd to 4th pull you probably have an issue. I got a few that fire up on the 1st or 2nd pull now.

as for the pull start sticker it might be a fe with a different head or they might have swapped engines and used the FE pull start. I think the FE used the same back plate as the Nitro star engine they used (not 100% certain)
