i was reading this article about the new Futaba 3vcs 2-Stick Radio and it made me curious. i grabbed my old hitec flash 4 radio and installed it in to my B4! i was shocked how smooth i was able to corner the car... throttle and steering control is so much better... next step was to modify the throttle stick to be the same as the right stick. the ratchet is gone and it centers in the middle... awesome.

however, here is the problem: why spending 500+ bucks on a 2-Stick Radio, when you can get a super nice airplane radio that can do a million things more, for the same price?
i was wondering if anyone is using an airplane radio and why?

I've been considering using my Futaba 9CAP for car use but that would mean spending +$300 on a FASST system for it.

I don't know about you but I would rather have a steering wheel to turn my cars and trucks, it feels more realistic when driving.

i don't know about realism? i think pistol grip radios are the only ones that try to make it look realistic. all other radio look the same. i have never seen a radio look like a helicopter cockpit, airplane cockpit or like a bridge. ha ha.
just think about it: people using stick radios when flying 350+ mph dynamic soaring, extreme 3D heli flying, 3D flying or pylon racing...i don't think you need more control and touch for racing cars!

I agree, I prefer a 2 stick radio. That being said I don't use one for my surface vehicles, I use the radios they came with. I wish they would make a 2.4Ghz radio for both surface and air use. I may just buy a DX7 and use it for all my vehicles and aircraft.
