I'm about to install a center diff in my revo 3.3 5308 and was just curious if I need to put grease in the tranny. If so what's a good kind can I just use diff grease I can pick up at a local auto parts store or is there special rc grease.

ive never run the center diff, but im pretty sure you dont put any grease in the transmission case itself. i think you just run your oil in the diff.

I don't think they suggest any type of oil or grease in the transmission.

I never feel comfortable with that, so I always put a few squirts of White Lithium Grease from a spray can before I seal the transmission up.

I would absolutely, positively not put a heavy "bearing grease" or other type of differential fluit in the transmission. That will only resist the normal motion inside the transmission...a bad thing.

Just a few dabs of oil on the gears or a very light application of a very light Lithium type grease is all I would do, if anything at all.

lubrication become's an issue when using metal gear's, it is not necessary to lube the stock plastic gear's but IF you decide to do so use what keith suggested [8D]
