Does anybody know how to fix this??
I finally got my SS out and really drove it hard today for the first time since the engine swap and man does this thing haul some A@#!!!!!!I seem to have really bad traction problems because it is shifting so hard it actually brakes the tires loose when it hits second and the car spins out completely. It shifts so hard in fact that after 3 hours of hard driving it stripped my second gear spur and totally ate up my rear tires. My question is how do I keep it from braking the tires loose and has anybody used the wolfpack 2 speed for the RS4 or does HPI make better spur gears that won't strip out?
Another thing I noticed is that the engine doesn't make much power until the temp reaches about 300 degree's??I thought the engine was supposed to run at 270-280?I tried adjusting the needles and richening it up but it didn't seem as fast. The engine is running strong and accelerating like crazy with no hesitation? It was about 75 today and i'm wondering if this high temp is normal for fantom engines or am I gonna brake it running this hot?

To stop the Hard shift problem change gears to a Lower ratio.
This will increase to end and put the power to a better use. Also you can bring the shifting point down just a little bit away from peak power. Double check your gear spacing as well. MAke sure they mesh up properly and don't have too much space.
IT's the simple things that slip our minds and takes a more inexperianced person to help point them out.

I'm using in 17T/23T pinions. What size spur should I buy to get a better ratio?I was using the stock spurs 47T/43T.Should I maybe try 48T/44T spurs or should I go with less teeth?I spaced the teeth with a peice of paper and the motor didn't move so I don't think it was the gear mesh.

Does it go::
Smaller pinion bigger spur=acceleration
Bigger pinion smaller spur=top speed
or is it the other way around?I always seem to get this mixed up.What other company's make spur gears that will work with the HPI 2speed?

so it breaks traction when it goes to 2nd? sounds like you got the right amount of power to me
seriously gear that sucker way up to get more top end, if you are spinning them in 2nd you have plenty of power to spare.
like that other guy said, try messing with the shift point. I would try to get it to shift just after the powerband fades, that way the engine isnt dutting out too much power when it shifts.

It actually starts breaking traction just before it shfts but when it shifts it loses it completey and spins out.Do you know anyone other than HPI who makes spurs for the 2speed?All I can seem to find is a 44T second gear but I did find a 49T first. You think that setup would do the trick? And what about the engine temps? Is it to hot or is it ok?

If it's breaking the tires loose before it shifts, adjust the set-screw in the 2 speed inward a bit to make it shift later (as you are shifting when the engine is in the middle of it's power band).

Would a 17T/49T first and a 23T/41T second be to big of a jump between teeth.Sorry for all the questions but i'm still kinda new to gear ratio's.
I just ordered a few different spurs from tower 41T,39T,49T,and a stock 43T so i'm gonna play around with different setups and try adjusting the 2speed a little bit and see where it takes me.
Thanks for all the help guys.

I was thinking about trying this setup let me know if it will be OK or not. This what i'm using now 17T/47T first 23T/47T second and I think i'm gonna change to this if it's ok:
17T/43t first gear
23T/39T second gear
Will this setup hurt my acceleration allot or will I barley notice the change and will it be a big increase in top speed?
