Default HL Turret Wiring And Tamiya Inquiries

<span style="font-size: larger">*******Changed the original title of the thread, no need to start another********* </span>

Other than the tank museum, which seems to have some of the better and cheapest deals. Where else can I find Tamiya tanks at a more reasonable price or is the Tank museum the best bet? Considering the Sherman or Pershing, which seems to be the best deal from AAF tank museum, but I also like the Panther and KV-2....which is a bit steep even at 700 bucks, but if that's the best it gets, then so be it.

Thanks folks!

Previous quesion

In my efforts to modify my Tiger to a different model. I completely forgot the most important step before disassembling. Take pictures or draw a diagram of the wiring set up of the turret. I snipped and desoldered the wires from the airsoft unit, lights, elevation unit, etc.......

Anyone have pictures or a diagram of how to rewire everything. Better yet, where would the wires connect to the 8 pin plug and then leach from the airsoft unit?

I suppose, I could wait till my new tank arrives and disassemble it to see....but, would like to delay opening my new tank for a bit until this tiger is done!!! Sucks not having a tank to drive around.

Any help would be appreciated very much!

Here is the color code chart.

Heng Long use common positive wiring in the turret for the motors.. THis means all the positive poles of the motors are wired in series together. You need to determine which dirction the airsoft motor needs to run. It can only function in one direction. Once you have done this then just run a positive feeder wire to the elevation motor Yellow goes to Airsoft, Blue goes to Elevation

Thanks Jeff,

Kind of figured that would be the best option.

The shipping is a bit confusing, though. Is the shipping charge really optional? It says if outside the country and already adds a shipping and handling fee with out adding my zip when going to Paypal.

So the actual charge of the Sherman is 475+15 shipping/handling.
If I add the shipping zip and update that said (if outside US) then it came to 475+$45 shipping/handling.
Is the latter correct?

I recently (July)purchased a Panther from the AAF tank museum and the delivered price to me in St. Petersburg, FL was $752.00 so you can expect your price to be close. Still the best delivered price Ifoundafter checking around the world. Any vendors outside the US will charge a lot more for the freight to get it to you even though their sale price may be less.

Thanks Shark,

Guess that's where I'll be getting my tank here in a week or so. Fairly excited about it! My first Tamiya and hopefully not the last.

I almost forgot Tomas at [link=http://www.vqwarbirds.com/rctank.html]VQ WARBIRDS[/link] where I bought my Tamiya KT from. Just another option and he is a member here at RCU and a tanker like us as well.

Speaking of searching for a Tamiya tank....found one on ebay that I'm trying to wrap my mind around "why?"

I mean, if your gonna take a Tamiya and practically make it mostly metal......why not just make a new one from the ground up and if you have to do as this guy did for the look of luxury and feel...might as well go all out and make those parts gold! lol

Yeah, Karen at the AAF is really the only one I would trust. I've seen the KV's and Panthers for slightly less but not enough too chance it as far as I'm concerned. And those are higher because they are the newer models and are holding their value well.

what overkill......as nice as it is for that kind of money your getting into 1/6 territory...there's no ungodly reason why a 1/16(loaded) should cost more then a grand...

Somehow the thread regarding Tamiya tank deals (if there is such a thing) was inadvertently combined with the thread regarding wiring of HL turrets. Who ever is "friggin' with the riggin" please correct this. Thanks

LOL!!

That was me and figured since it was my thread, I had a right to do so........guess not, eh?

I don't like clutter and I hate creating more than one thread in one day just to ask questions.....especially if what I asked was resolved already, wouldn't you agree?

There is no connection, so there's nothing to get.

I had a question.....it was answered and I moved on. Instead of creating a new thread to add clutter to the forum I used the same thread.

If you have inquires regarding the same matter and need help with wiring your turret....maybe you should make your own thread?

Hope that helps.
