Default RC Crash Test Video?

Was just wondering if there are any RC manufacturers that do crash test to proof how durable their cars are just for marketing purposes.

Nope.. R/C cars unlike the 1:1 industry do not have regulations put in place for their durability because they aren't built for safety. Manufacturers would never do this cause its somewhat pointless and would possibly affect their sales based on results. They leave it to the consumer to do the testing

I think the "crash testing" is the big jumps (more like cam angle IMO) that they do.... just my take on it, that would be a cool Time Warp episode though [8D]

I can attest to an HPI Savage being tough. My cousin ran his into my leg at 30+mph and all it did was strip the spur gear and bruise my ankle

If i had been a little guy, I may have had a broken ankle. [X(]

No two crashes are the same. A lot of it is luck.

^ Very true. Parts can fail if they have contact at the wrong angles and conditions, there are too many variables unless you do it 1:1 style and ram them into a wall on a rail.

When hitting a wall, the incedent angle can make a huge difference on the amount of damage done (if any). Hitting things head-on typically inflicts the least damage. It's the glancing blows or the diagonal hits which can do the most damage, or the damage that is hardest to repair.

Well.... after my last fun run at the local go-cart track I can attest to the tank-like qualities of the Trax Slayer. I drove it so bad I was a great advertisement for just how much abuse that truck can take and trust me, I heard a lot of comments along those lines! Which some of those wrecks were recorded they were so bad (went end over end over the railing on one!).

Best thing is, you can't even tell I hit anything (ok, the plastic body is crap, but the truck is pretty spotless).

Now I'm a bit better now that I realize how tip-over easy it is. Much better with the sway bar kit installed

I have a few videos of jumps AND crashes that attest to the slashes durability. Including 6 cartwheels followed by a single end over end off one crash. I have managed to break a handful of parts by doing some totally ridiculous maneuvers but all in all unless I am willfully doing something malicious it just doesnt break.
