Default up grading pro .15 t maxxs

i have the pro 15 model and now blowing the dust off of them. they are easier to entertain my son in my back yard then loading my planes and going to the airfield. any of the new aftermarket parts for the 2.5 and 3.3 are interchangeable? i just put a os 18 cvrx in 1 of them but after breaking in the engine i see the 8 yr old driveline (beat on pretty hard with an os 15cvrx b4 i parked them for my planes ) probbably wont last to long. any upgrade ideas? the other one i plan on using the os 18 tz. any help would be great!! thanks mike

the cheapest driveline upgrade for the pro .15 maxxes is the old style 2.5 drivelines, they are nearly twice as beefy as the old pro .15 ones, going to the 3.3 shafts requires more parts...

pretty much anything for any of them will fit on yours other than the transmission from the 3.3 maxxes and the axle carriers everything is interchangable. if you are wanting them to be more stable, get the new suspension arms and turnbuckles

the TZ engine you mention is a rear exhaust slide carb, which would mean a different exhaust pipe and a throttle linkage conversion, just to warn you, the CV RX you put on the other one is about the easiest swap you can do...

There are many different upgrades you can get. Most parts you can use from the newer models with out issue. Some have been switched to revo parts so you have to upgrade a fair amount to use them. If your only issue right now is drive shafts there are a few solutions.

1. New model ones (plastic)
2. CVD's (steel) (MIP, Traxxas, Vantage Racing, THS)
3. Dog bone conversion (steel)
4. Summit conversion ( plastic)

well i was wringing it out this evening and getting the os 18 cvr tuned in . that engine for a drop in no mods runs great!!! Icant wait to finish the wildcat 20% xtra which is 9 months old. It was left over from my planes. and step it up to a more proformance fuel! it will snatch the front wheels off the ground. any way while bashing the rear diff is now noisy while in a hard turn. should i rebuild the guts or just spool it? and get rid of the spider gears? gotta love the maxx!

get a kimborgh aluminum diff cup or however it's spelled (google it), that way you can properly shim the spider gears (get a new $9 diff rebuild kit too). the diff cup is an aluminum version of the stock piece that uses bigger screws for the ring gear and will be more rigid to take more abuse. I have one in my maxx, but haven't abused it enough yet
