iv got a hyper 7 and would like to go brushless. i want silly power but im not clued up on brushless motors and lipos etc.

would 6 cell lipos be good?
what motor would i need?
i need a full parts list really including a charger as i have no electric gear at all

budget is £200 to MAYBE £300 max

if you're wanting to fit everything under your budget, then you're probably gonna have to buy stuff from hobbypartz or hobbyking. for a charger, the Thunder AC6 from hobbypartz has been great to me, and is only $40 US. yes, 6s would be plenty, maybe even too much. take a look at these sites and then get back to us:

in most respects you will probably want a 1850-2200 kv motor on 4S to be controllable.
6S if you try it would only be good IMO for a straight line speed run.

Kv is rpm's per volt
BL motors are generally rated in Kv like 1850Kv, 2200, 4000Kv etc (there are way more than those they were just used as examples)

thanks for that so the kv kinda dictates how many cells i should use?
ie 4000kv motor on 4s lipo would = 75,200 rpm? (do motors spin that fast?)

4000kv motor on 4s would have the magnets fly off

for 1/8th scale use you generally stick around 1850-2350kv.
got a truggy with a 2200kv motor on 4S that is 100% uncontrollable at full throttle.

i make that 41,360 rpm are my numbers correct?
what motor do you have? does it have planty of torque?
what pinion gear do you have?

Default RE: hyper 7 brushless conversion??

iv done a bit or research and worked out if i use 4s lipo il need roughly 2000-2700kv motor with 6s id need something like 1400-1700 kv

i assume more cells gives more torque?

what pinion gear should i go for?

do i need a tray for battery and esc?

iv found this motor mount
http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...=rcmhypermount

i think iv settled on this esc without knowing much about them still
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2706985087...84.m1423.l2649

would that be ok?

iv seen lcd programming boxes but havnt the slightest idea what they do???
http://www.nitrorcx.com/07e-hobbywin...1-progbox.html

then im on to batteries and charger
i want 2 batteries minimum and obviously a charger i know nothing at all about lipos though
