slash motor

Default slash motor

when i drive my stock slash with the bigger gear it gets really hot with a 7 cell battery i had to replace it oce because it overheated. also when i tried to put on the smaller gear and drove it it made like a screeching sound but it sounds fine with the bigger gear whats wrong?

sounds like the gear mesh is off when u put the smaller gear on....check it out.

is the mesh gear the one you can see when you take off the black cap?

it sounds like your pinion gear on the motor has too much clearance between it and the spur gear [the big gear]
when you change a gear you should be able to run a piece of paper through the gears . this should allow proper
gear clearance .sometimes if you put a smaller gear on the motor the slots that the motor swivels in arent
long enough to allow proper gear clearance.if this is the case then you cant run that gear. when they say mesh
they are talking about gear clearance.
