Default VQ P-51 Engine Mount distance

What is the distance from the firewall to the prop hub on the VQ P-51? 5 inches? I did 5 1/4 and it looks too much. Please help. Trying to fly this thing tomorrow. Also the CG point. I don't know why but the search engine on RCU is sucking pretty bad right now.

Iput mine just under 5 1/8 on the Dego Red and and the cowl paint almost matched up, Right at 5 1/8 I think would have been good. The istructions have a metric and a standard measurement and it you convert the metric it's not even close to the standard measurement, In reality as long as you get it to balence it really shouldn't matter a whole lot, As long as you have your CG and the cowl fits right you should be good.

I balanced it at 134 mm. The amount was around 5 inches to the firewall. She flies awesome!

Glad to hear that, Can't wait to get mine up, but the weather just won't cooperate for me LOL Wich P51 did you get? and what engine did you use? I was going to use a Magnum 70 but Icame across a Saito 82 for a good price and it is actually lighter than the Magnum. I'm just going to have to have good throttle control with this beast LOL.

Dauntae,
I am running a YS .63 with a 12 x 8 MAS prop and it pulls it a little better than the OS .46 I had in it earlier. No vertical but good smooth flight. It doesn't fly superfast but it is impressive. It lands very nice and will float to a slow crawl when landing. I would'nt slow it down too much but it doesn't need to come it hot either.

Using an ASP 91 AR four STROKE  on my VQ DAGO RED, flown it for the first time yesterday,it's fast and just great using a  APC 13x7,the landings are also smooth with the vq retracts(with shocks).</p>
