Xtreme RC Cars Reviews XRAY T2'008
[link=http://www.teamxray.com]Team XRAY[/link] gets more high marks for the [link=http://www.rcxray.com/t2-008]XRAY T2'008[/link]. [link=http://www.rc411.com]Xtreme RC Cars[/link] reviewed the US version of the T2'008 and it's nothing but nines and tens. I looked back at some other XRAY cars and it looks like the last 5 have received tens for "parts quality/fit". You can get the [link=http://www.myrcblog.com/2008/05/xtreme-rc-cars-reviews-t2008-up-spec.html]highlights of the XRAY T2'008 review[/link] here.

Thanks for posting the links eckosof. It should also be noted the foam tire set up is for US and the rubber is for EU. The most visual difference between the US and EU is the tires however there are other little differences as well (i.e. drive train ratios, solid axle, drive shaft length, anti-roll bars, etc.). The US version meets ROAR specifications and the EU meets ROAR, EFRA and FEMCA specs.

Hey now eckosof. We both as owners know that the XXX-S isnt a bad car. Not a great one but not a bad one. I think the XXX-S is a perfect car for people new to the onroad scene. They are easy to work on and easy to run. I think you got yourself a good car. Anyways thats my 2 cents. Latta!!!

yea i think i would feel better if i would have spend 200 on a XXX-S roller than 415 with brushless setup just to replace esc and motor in less than a week of use. i just think with the money i put in i could have got a ta05 or one of these xrays for the same price.

If you could have your pick of a T2'007 or T2'008, you would pick the T2'008 because it is better if you measure them straight up. Now, if you already have a T2'007 and are thinking about buying a T2'008 you have to weigh the additional costs, the upgrade parts you already have for your T2'007 and the spares you have in your parts box. If you have neither and are looking at buying a really cheap used (but in good condition) T2'007 versus a brand new T2'008, then you have a tough decision. Really, it comes down to cost versus your desire for the latest performance improvements.

tks for the quick reply. yes, i have neither and this will be my first xray car buy, was using Tamiya cars before this. i came across a very good condition T2 007 at my local RC shop that is for sale (it comes with lotsa spare parts & hop ups too!) and it will save me SGD$330 if i chose to buy the second hand 007 instead of a brand new 008. i was thinking, since this is my first xray car buy, why not give the 007 a try and have the feel of it first. then wait for a later version of 008, which i believe will be out in less than another 12 months (hehehehe) than i would have & feel a major & drastic improvements over the 007. what do you think?

One of the great benefits of buying an XRAY kit is being able to put it together. They do such a great job with their instructions and parts fit, it's fun assembling them. If you don't care much for that, then buying the already-built T2'007 may be your best bet given the savings you can get. The T2'008 was released on 11/28/2007 so if you like your used T2'007 then you may want to pre-order the next T2 when it **may be** announced around the same time this year. That way you get the most time with the newest version.

that's what I thoght so. tks for the reply, you made my decision easier. I am used to assemblying cars so buying a ready 007 is not a problem for me. can easily learn about the car along the way. see, I am right, right? xray is coming with a newer car end this year. tks again.

I can't tell you with absolute certainty they are coming out with a new version in the T2 lineup, but I would be surprised if they didn't based on their history. Of course, when XRAY hits the sweet spot with a new design they will stick to it (see [link=http://www.myrcblog.com/2008/03/no-changes-for-xray-xt8-in-2008.html]XRAY's decision on the XRAY XT8[/link]). The T2'008 was a significant jump from the T2'007 in that RC hobbyists now have 3 versions to choose from. They can pick the kit that fits their racing surface and speed. Since there are 3 it takes a bit more effort for XRAY to roll out a 2009 edition. Something to keep in mind.
