red wire on esc

Default red wire on esc

could you guys tell me what the red wire on an esc is for? i have a blade cp with a brushless motor and phenoix esc, with the red wire not attached and it works fine. im jhus wondering why you wouldnt hook this one up too?

copterguy1,

the red wire is power from the BEC or battery elimination circuitry built in to the ESC. You don't need to connect it because you are getting power for your Rx. and servos from another source, (Your 3n1 perhaps?)
