Default cool air = more power

I was thinking the other day about how to get more power for a cheap price on my T-Maxx, when i thought of this. More air = more power right? Well then that means more cool air = way more power. Well what makes cool air?, co2 does. And being an avid paintball player I know alot about co2 and compressed air. Well thats when i came up with this idea. If you use an engine mount or something like it, (first link at bottom of page) and you mount a small gram sized co2 tank, (2nd link at bottom of page), in it then you have a mounted co2 tank on your truck. Well now you are probably wondering how will the co2 actually make it into the air intake, well if you take some fuel line, also called macroline or microline and insert a small needle thats sharp enough to puncture metal into the end of the line, then you are now connected to the bottle. Now all that you need to do is get connected to the air filter which is not hard either. The next step is to make a small hole in the actual foam air filter part, and shove the line into the filter. Now I know that this idea can work with a little bit of your guys help and polishing so lets do this. So for the 15 dollars that it woukd cost to make this happen, its deffinitely worth it, right? Lemme know what you guys think.

Wrong.

More air & more fuel = more power. Introducing more air into the combustion chamber will just cause the engine to run lean.

Yea I dont see any way it would make it faster unless it was air propulstion pushing it forward..

More air does equal more power and cooler air equals more air, however it is the O in the air that you need, not the CO2. Using the co2 to chill the "air" would make it more dnse thus giving it more air and power. Of course adding a slight bit more fuel to bring the mixture back in line is ness.

It would be waste of time in my opinion, but using a heat exchanger to pass the air thru the dischargeing co2 would be the way to cool it. A better way might be to design a hood scoop to get cool air and "forced" air.

The biggest thing I thought about when I red this is with the co2 container being bounced around in the truck, how are you going to get the air into the truck instead of the liquid. Co2 becomes liqueid when under pressure in the tank. That is why they make the snorkel tubes that replace the valves on the top of the 20 oz bottles to pick up the air in the tank and not allow the liquid to escape.

Plus, the co2 tank could get punctured or damaged badly and make a un-safe sitiution.

No difference in safety procedures maybe. Nitrous has the oxygen needed, CO2 will put the fire out (less power)

Yeah, I'm trying to understand how putting CO2 (cold or not) into the throat of the carb is going to do anything but kill the engine. CO2 is a fire stopper not a fire starter/booster.
I appriciate the thought and innovation but I don't think this idea has any fire in it.

if u even look in the manual it has a pic of cold air bein denser then warm air meanin more fuel with cold air and less fuel with hot air so that it keeps the mixture balanced.

With air, yes but CO2 is not air. CO2 is used as a fire extinguisher/suppressant. Inject it into a carb and you will kill the engine, not provide more power.

Then how will it work?
As I understand it he wants to inject CO2 into the carb. Sure that will make it cold but no amount of extra fuel will make it stay running.

But yeah, you're right, colder ambiant temps - like in winter - mean that you have to richen the carb a bit to keep from running lean.

try the same thing with propane injection... it may not "cool" the air.. but it will at least burn...

IMO.. waste of time, just run a higher content of nitro fuel...
