Carbon fiber is stronger than graphite, and graphite is also an electrical conductor, and more expensive in it's raw form.
If you want to out-trick yourself, make some reinforced carbon-carbon components. Their heat resistance can exceed 5400F.

Wow, I thought graphite would get more votes! Graphite is way more expensive too! I'm defiantly going to buy the CF kit now!

because they're both woven. unwoven graphite looks sorta like plastic
