Default Winter Ski Kit

Has anyone tried the Winter Ski Kit?

http://www.fullforcerc.com/ski-kits.htm

There is over a foot of snow outside and I'm thinking of trying these skis. After I winterize my truck.

thats stupid ur better off with 4 wheel drive cause unless ur rear wheel drive to begine with ur losing ur ability to go through snow because ur front wheels are no longer helping to pull through snow.

I dont really like the idea of losing 4wd either, but there is close to 2 feet of powder here, and I need somthing that will keep the truck on top of the snow. Just wondering if anyone has tried them.

put some ultra heavy diff oil in ur diffs that will help but u will need to take it out in the summer . if they made something like this it would go through snow like crazy.

So anybody actually try this?

It's gunna be winter here soon..
I was thinking of wrapping the electronics up.. (sealing them)

I've gotta get something to check tempature.. cause might need a hotter plug to keep the temp up..

But honestly I think the ski kit would work..
The surface area on the front skis is quite a bit so not concerned about that.. but for the rear.. gunna need some bigger/wider tires to help keep the truck up. some mainly to give a larger foot print.. .. and well loosing traction and digging a hole might be pretty simple either way. so gunna need to try and minimize that..

I don't really see the point of that ski kit. It costs $50, and IMHO barely makes the truck turn better. All it does is looks good.

It looks like they'd work best in light snow cover or hard packed snow....the rear tires will just dig down in deep or soft snow. It's almost like a rear track setup would be needed to handle any real snow. The skis are still a cool idea though.

Well there is barely any snow in that vid..
like my grass is deeper then there snow.. [X(]

I usually have a couple good 3-5 foot high piles of snow.. and normally 1-2 feet of snow on top of the grass.. and then the top layer just changes.. to the most recent.. fluffy.. thick, packed, wet, and the bottom just gets crispy cause it usually melts a bit then refreezes.. like ice cream..

And as for the vid.. I don't think he had the greatest rear tires.. I wanna go with some huge wide and soft.. to give me a bigger foot print, so it doesn't sink as fast.. ex. snow shoes..

If I lived somewhere where it snowed alot, I would HAVE to get a set... even if it was for no other reason than the cool factor.

All we get is fog and rain. Headlights fix the fog problem (it's not that bad), but no solution to rain. It rains a lot here too. [&o]
