Default Steering Problem

When I adjust the steering trim so that my truck goes straight ahead in one direction, and I turn it around to face me and gun the throttle, it will veer off to one side. I have checked the tie rods and they seem to be at equal lengths apart.

For example, I do a high-speed run in one direction, and the steering is perfectly centred. When I come back the other way, the steering will be way off and I have to turn a lot to keep the truck going straight.

Can someone please help me?

How do you have your steering servo saver adjusted? Sounds like it might be to loose.

Very good recommendation as I had two on my Savage strip do to the screw coming a little loose until I got in to the habit of periodically make sure the screw was tight.

I never lost the screw but it does not have to get very loose to strip the servo horn.

I checked my car just now and it turns out that one of the screws are loose. However, I cannot loosen one of the screws that hold the skid plate to the servo saver. I have tried heat, bit it just won't loosen...

get a battery powered drill and use that be very carfull u don't stripp the screw. it there is a clutch on it set that. or ask your dad for help he can probably get it out, but in my savage 25 i didn't have to take out the skidplate to tighten the screw i just drilled a hole on the bottom so i can fit a screw driver through. and so it's even with the screw so i don't stripp it

Yea, or you can get a screwdriver that fits, and get some pliars and clamp those on the handle of the screwdriver (if its small enough) and crank it round like that. I often do it that way, just to snap the loctite loose.
