Default Good volt or watt meter?

First of all i would like to thank everyone who helped me get started. i had my first flight tonight, and maintained a pretty stable hover about a foot off the ground. i woulda gone higher...but i couldnt.

for some reason, my charger isnt charging my batteries very good. i have an hobbico MKII. my batteries are a 9.6v nicd for my jr quattro tx, and a 1200mAH Lithium Pack 2 Cell from helihobby. for some reason the charger said they were fully charged very quickly, but when i tried them out they ran out quick. i charged them both at .8A.

i wanted to get a voltmeter to see what the deal was. also it would be a useful tool, so do you recomend any that can detect both nicd and lithium? and if you have any tips to what i was doing wrong charging it, i could use any help.

would the hobbico mkIII be able to test a lithium charge?

thanks!
