Which engine for Lanier 87" 540 EDGE?
I have narrowed down my search to 1 of 3 engines for the Lanier 87" 540 Edge I have.
Brillelli 50GT --- $475.00
DL-50 --- $370.00
3mm TOC 53 ---- $395.00 (BMCA)
I know Brillelli very well and the customer support is great, but I cannot look the other way. I must ask people out there that have used these other 2 engines and see if one of them my be a better engine for this plane. All 3 seam to have the same power and swinging the same size props, but which one works best for my Lanier 540 Edge?

I believe the Lanier Edge finishes out around 19lbs.+ but I'm not totally sure. If that is indeed the case, than I would opt for the Brillelli 60.

I have a 3w55i on mine and it flies good. I also have a Brillelli 60 in another aircraft and if I had to do it agin it would be a Brillelli 60 in the Edge. If you fly 3D go for the B60 you won't be sorry.

I have a friend that has the Lainer 87" Edge 540 with a DA-50 engine and it weigh's only 17lbs 3oz. He is using a Bolly 23x8 prop and it fly'svery well and he can hover it. The plane has decent pull out. I am not a 3d flyer yet, but I am learning. I am looking into these engine becasue of price. My funds are limited to a engine in the $400.00 price range. The BCMA site says the 3mm TOC53 will hover a 18lbs plane. I really like the Brillelli line of engines, but I don't know if the Brillelli 50GT will hover an 18lbs plane.

I know that this one is not on your list brilleli 60,
those lanier plane have the tendency to be on the heavy side
and they are big for a 50cc , I saw one flying with a fuji 64, good power but not enough
for 3D
