RE: Glow plug/heads for T/D Cox
Hi Charlie2
The only place you will find replacements for the Cox 15 (TD, Medallion or Olympic) is on eBay OR have an existing glo-head converted to take an ordinary gloplug. If you go that route expect a drop in power output.
Another alternative is to have the head converted to be a clamping ring and have an insert made to take a Nelson plug; will last a lot longer and you get a boost in rpm.

I bought a fairly junky Olympic for $15 at a swap meet. Got it cleaned up and a friend reset the piston. It had some kind of replacement head for a regular glow plug. I ran it on 10% Sig Champion fuel and it turned a Cox gray 8 x 4 at 17,000. Actually I did not lean it all the way as I was afraid of throwing a blade at those RPM's. Geeza Whiz! Dummy me I did not take the head off and really look at it, nor try a regular head. I had bought the engine thinking to make a pusher flying wing with it, but decided the project was not practical. Sold it on ebaY for a profit. Kinda wish I still had it.

Look for an r/c swapmeet or other model swapmeet / fleamarket in your area, you might get real lucky. The last one I went to had aa guy selling glow heads up through .09 but I can't remember if he had any .15's.

I know of some glo-heads that have the same thread as the Cox .15. Try the Fox Rocket .09, Fox .10 or Hustler .10 and the Gilbert .11. Don't know about the combustion chamber contours or how the compression ration would work out.
While looking over my spare Cox .15 heads I noticed several different part numbers
1102 for Cox Olympic and Sportsman
1802 HIGH SPEED for Cox SPECIAL TEE DEE
1902 for Cox Sportsman .15 (Written in pen on blister pack)
2602 (TD .15 written in pen on blister pack)
I have a new Olympic .15 and new MK-II TD so I really don't want to part with my spares.

Charlie,
Try drilling and tapping for a stock, glow plug. The larger .15 may not suffer this procedure the way the .049 does.
And you could also do this, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_45..._1/key_/tm.htm
