RE: tmaxx fuel line shutoff
if you like to kill the engine by cutting off the fuel (which some people like to do to burn up all the nitro in the engine), you can usually just pinch the fule line with your fingers.
what is the problem you are having with yours? not enough fuel line, broken clip etc...
what was the "surgery"?

If you can you can also take your foot or finger and put it over the exhaust stinger, this will help kill the engine or you can take off your air filter and put your finger over the carb opening when you want to shut if off. Or you can put your foot in fron tof the vehicle and with your other hand you can pinch the fuel line.

Taking the airfilter off to block the carb is, IMHO, not the best idea. Too much chance of trash falling down the carb and it does not take a lot to ruin one of these little motors.
If you don't like the exhaust plugging method to stop the engine, and cannot pinch the fuel line, the next best way is to stop the flywheel. It takes very little effort and I've even heard of people using their fingers to do it. Personally, I'm not poking something doing 2 - 3 thousand rpm with a bare finger. On MT's, where the flywheel is not easly accessable, a popcicle stick will reach the flywheel and easily stop the engine.
If you really want to use the pinch the fuel line method and cannot work the stock clip then just run a longer fuel line and leave a big enough loop so that you can fold it over and pinch it like you would do a garden hose.

what i do on an everyday basis is just cover the air filter with the palm of your hand. it works great and easier than pincing the line.

Traxxas PN 5367 contains a fuel line clip, along with a cap and pull ring. It's for Revo, but only costs 3 bucks. Dubro also make a fuel line clip.
