Default Has anyone checked out the Monster GT?

Too bad this thing's only available in an RTR. It's huge and beefy! AE's web site (and the link) gives some pretty good detail on it. It looks like the engine wouldn't be bad, but that stinkin' Ace Jaguar radio ain't worth spit! If they'd make it available in a rolling chassis kit, I'd buy one. Maybe if enough of us tell them we want one, they'll give us one.

And I'd put the new Fantom .21 in there. Som***** would scream! Then just my luck, the throttle arm would break at WOT and I'd end up taking out somebody's house!

Thats an option if your looking at somthing close to a kit form?
Just thought I would pass that on.

That's a darn good price, but how good is the Pirate? You gotta admit, it looks pretty whimpy compared to the Monster GT. The good thing is you could install a Fantom .21 and the radio of your choice. The bad thing would be getting run over by a Monster GT. AE really needs to make the MGT available in a RCK (rolling chassis kit), problem is, I think we'll be waiting for that for a long time.

Something else to ponder. Have any of you given any though to what the price of the MGT is going to be? I don't even want to think about it. I bet it's in excess of $500. That Pirate kit's looking better by the minute!

Now the Ofna kits aren't looking so great. Upon further review, I've noticed a couple of things. None of their RCK's come with 8 shocks, or 2 speed trannies. How much better is two shocks per wheel compared to one per wheel? Also, to upgrade to a 2 speed tranny costs more than $100. Looks like the money hounds are gonna get cha comin' or goin'. I just need to make more money!

It's my understanding based upon what I have read about the new Associated MT it's going to run around $500.00. That would put it on the high end of the MT's but still cheaper than a Titan.

The Associated MT should be a monster and should dwarf my TMaxx.

So have you come to a decision yet? Buggy or MT? Or are you going to just replace every part on your GT and make it a very souped up stadium truck?

I'm sure every part on my GT will be replaced and it'll become the most souped up GT ever, whether I get an MT, a buggy, nothing else. I just enjoy doing this.

I think I've ruled out buggies. I still think they're cooler than dry ice, but there lack of ground clearance has kind of steered me away from them.

I'm looking really hard at MT's. I like the fact they can be driven anywhere, and the way I like to hop things up, if I get one and it isn't fast enough for me, I'll just soup it up!

Grampi... in my opinion... the Pirate is a glorified 1/8 scale ofna buggy... or what I like to call a TRUGGY. They are not the size of a regular MT but they are very durable. I have a friend who has the pirate and its TOUGH!

Just wanted to pass on some info.
Good Luck
