Default TT 54-4stroke

I have TT 54 that runs pretty good, thinking about putting it on a Tower hobbys Uproar,I want to know what prop. to use ,the plane weighs 4.2 lbs.I know the TT 54 is overrated for HP. I tried it on a something extra and it was slow and no vertical,I was running a 10/7and 11/6 10/8. any help would be helpful. THANKS

I don't know that a TT .54 is overrated for HP, I thought it was the other way, it has more power than the rating. But I don't think any .54 four stroke would have enough power for verticle performance on a Something Extra. A .46 two stroke struggles to hover it and that is about equivalent to a .70 four stroke.

Do you have any thought on putting the Tt54 on the uproar and prop size

I used an APC 12x6 on a TT .54 FS I had a while back on my SIG LT-40. I beefed up a few things a bit too much and the .54 would fly it just not with as much authority as I wanted. I'm thinking the .54 swinging a 12x6 would do well on an Uproar, maybe. Personally, I'd rather put a TT PRO .36 on it swinging a 11x4 prop and build the plane real light and use 4 Hitec 225 servos on it for control surfaces and a 55 on throttle.

Hmmm...do what you gotta do...

Maybe a 12-5 would do better. Thundertiger four strokes like to turn up over 10K.

I have never heard my TT four strokes tell me they like run over 10K. With all the moving parts a four stroke has IMO it is not a good idea to prop ANY four stroke for over 10K on the ground. I typically prop them around 9.2-9.5K on the ground.
