Default Aftermarket Muffler for 4 strokes

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a quieter aftermarket muffler for my larger four strokes. I have a Saito FA180 GK and a Magnum 120 FS. The stock mufflers are not as quiet as I need them to be, you know about noise restrictions!!!

How quiet are the pitts style muffers from the major muffler companies.

I also have an MDS 148 that has a Bisson pitts muffler. Is there a modifacation I can do to add some sound restriction to it without a great loss of performance?

Thanks for your help,
FlyinBlind

Davis Model Products makes a line of very quiet pitts-style mufflers that don't cost an arm and a leg. The only way to quiet an engine w/ minimal performance loss is to use a muffled tuned pipe (a-la pattern planes). Go to http://www.centralhobbies.com/index.htm for 4-stroke tuned pipes, but be prepared to drop some serious mula.

I am using a couple of inverted Pitts mufflers on my 4-strokes, and they are more quiet than the stock mufflers.
