Saito 120 new break in ??
Hi, I have a new Saito 120 with about 30 minutes of break in so far. I have a PR0-Zinger 15X6 on it and my high RPM is at 10000 and the low at around 2600. What should the ideal high and low rpm be?
Thanks for your time

A little leaning of the low speed screw will get you a 2,000 to 2,200 rpm idle, the 15x6 is a little light, a 15x8 would be better, 10,000 is a bit fast. You don't need to wear it out to get a good idle, but you will need to lean it and reduce the throttle opening at idle a little at a time as it continues to break in.

Like hobbsy said. I also think 10000 is too much RPM for that engine. Use a 15 X 8 or a 16 X 6 prop for that engine. Lean out your LS needle for 2200 rpm then try for 1800 to 2000 rpm after 2 to 3 gallons of fuel. I'm using 15% Wildcat 2 & 4 stroke nitro.
cheers.
cheers.

Erich:
The 15x6 is definitely not enough prop for an FA-120, and if yours is the "S" version it's even more so.
On the standard 120 I like the 14x8 three blade prop, on he "S" engine it's a 15x8.
Running 10K rpm on the ground in itself says you don't have enough load on the engine.
A further note on the FA-120S - it will not idle as well as the older version, but you still should be able to get 2200 rpm reliably.
Bill.
