I'm having a difficult time trying to locate a document that states the minimum safety requirements to be legal at IMAA sanctioned events. In otherwords, what minimum size hardware, standard building safety practices etc? I looked at the IMAA website with no luck. Any help would be appreciated!

I think other than the size minimums you need a engine kill switch.... that's it...

I think you will find that rather than an engine kill switch the requirement is for the engine to be stoppable from the Tx ie you could do it on the trims if you have the engine set up correctly.
