Nick, Waco is about 2.5 hours north of S.A. depending where you are in town. The jet flyers in San Antonio fly on the weekends at the Randolph AFB aux field which is just outside of SA. As Buck said, the Dallas and Austin flyers get together quite often in Waco. Just say when and we will plan a day.
I'll give ya some stick time on a Boomer XL and a HABU

Again, thanks guys! I think the first two weeks is simulators and academics, and the last week is flying, so the first two weeks should be good for me, i will firm it up when i get my class syllabus. Looking forward to putting some faces to the screen names ;-)

Rebel Hobbies is really nice. Jerry and Jerry Jr. are great to just go talk to. They carry quite a bit of stuff. Primarily sport stuff, but still a nice place. It is probably 20 minutes on Loop 410 from Randolph and Lackland.
Second Chance Hobbies is up near Randolph and they have a small shop, but still some nice stuff. The people in there are also very nice.

Rebel went under. Only "roots" place left is 2nd Chance in Universal City. There are some Hobbytowns but we all know what is in them.
