Newbie T-Maxx 3.3 Owner
I just recently aquired a T-Maxx 3.3 (4909) from my Father-In-Law, it had been just sitting around at his place not getting used, I asked about it, and whatta ya know.... it's now sitting in my garage!!!Anyways, I'm pretty new to the whole thing, drove a few but never had my own to worry about keeping up with any maintenance that goes along with it....
What should I look for, possibly inspect, check, or make sure of prior to starting it up and running? It's had a bunch of work done to it apparently, all aluminum (vise plastic) parts, transmission has had some work done, all new suspension..... He gave me all the OEMparts along with a bunch of filters and a can of fuel (which I think I'll just buy a new can b/c I don't know how long this can has been sitting around).
I'm going to Hobby Town USAtomorrow to pick up some fuel and have one of the guys there help me go over everything, but I would like some advice through this forum prior to heading there just to see what you guys think. I highly doubt it has had a ton of hours put on it, but would just like to know where my attention should be focused towards... Servos? Bearings? Glow Plugs?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'll post some pictures after Iget up and running.

Nitro trucks have a definite maintenance routine you need to follow in order to keep the motor happy.
after run procedures should be followed for every session.
I am far from a Nitro expert, but there are many on this site and places like Traxxas and beatyourtruck as well.

Here are some pictures
I got it running last night, need to adjust the fuel some running a rich. I only have power to the rear wheels though. Possibly the front differential gear box?? I'm going to pull it apart later this week. Didn't have any trouble starting it up though, charged everything and started up without any problems.

i am no nitro vet i have only had my t-mxx 3.3 for an year, but its sounds like if ur truck is running rich u need to adjust the high end needle down an 1/4 of an turn, and also if ur front wheels aren;t spinning sounds like either u have an locking wheel nutt too tight causing ur wheels to jam up, or possible it could be ur front diff. hope this helps u out some

Wow thats one nice Tmaxx [X(] All that aluminium must weight a ton! But your really lucky to get a deal like that, your father-in-law must be pretty cool. I hope you get the front wheels problem fixed soon. And also just a tip, try go through all the screws which are metal on metal with blue threadlocker, and have a look at the driveshafts on the front end to see if a screw or grubscrew is missing because that might be your problem.
