Revo 3.3 OR Savage SS 4.6?
Ok try not to be biased and give me your opinion. YES i have used the search button and found alot of info but i want to compaire these to and get a little more feedback. Which one would you get? Savage SS 4.6 OR Revo 3.3?
I have a Savage 25, and a Jato 3.3 already.
Which one is FASTER?
Which one can stand more abuse?
Which one has less problems?
Which one is easier to work on?

RE: Revo 3.3 OR Savage SS 4.6?
FWIW, when I was deciding, it was between the savage x and revo 3.3, not the x ss. I picked the revo. had the x ss been out at the time, things could have been different.
in terms of durability, the savage is the more durable of the two. with that said, I regularly jump my revo high and far and just beat on it in general, and it's definetely stood up well so far. far better than I expected it to, at least, what with all the comments about how the savage is by far more durable. it IS more durable, but not by any means by a large margin.
problems out of the box? hard to say with the x ss. the x had several problems out of the box (namely the spur, diffs, and tvp's), all of which hpi says is fixed with the x ss. not many people have them yet, so hard to say. I haven't had any problems with my revo out of the box.
the revo is definitely the easier of the two to work on. I work at a hobby shop and regularly have to work on cars. while the x fixed many of the accessibility problems of the 25, it still is a pain to work on compared to the revo. I can basically work on my revo with only two tools, a 2mm and 2.5mm allen driver.
they both should go about the same speed. stick a 3-speed into the savage and it'll have better acceleration and top-end than the revo, but the same goes about sticking a more powerful engine into either of them. they both go fast enough for just about anyone. any faster and you'll just be breaking parts more often.

RE: Revo 3.3 OR Savage SS 4.6?
Hay jnev, if the x, and x ss have the same tvps, and hte first oe had problems breaking, wouldn't you say thats kinda problematic? I honestly beleave that a revo is much stronger then a savage. In the last year, or i should say this entire year, i stripped a diff gear, broke a tie-rod, and broke the stock rim. I think thats ofle good for a year. And considering how the rco is more agile, faster, easyer to work on, overall better designed, and defently pare i nthe durablity of a savge, if not more, the revo is obviosly the better pick. There are many peaple who have both and like the revomore. The thing about savages being indestructable is bs, cause no rc is, and to think that is like worrieing about an airplain falling on you.

^^^^^^ Dude are you a noob????!?! Any person with common sense can see that Savage want tuned wrth a $h!t man... Good job, you found the worst case scenario for a Savage drag race.... The 4.6 will hold to the 3.3 pretty well. The tune...., is another story.... That thing was pig rich im surprised it didnt shut off on acceleration.... I just cant help not being a jerk lol, this video shows nothing.. Except for that guys inexperience.. Tom.

Oh pick which ever one u want they are both about the same except the Revo is faster and easier to work on and better handling. The savage might have a slight edge in bashing.

JUCD VPR, you are always bashing on the Revo in every thread i have seen, about how junk it is. If u know so much about it and the savy this pick should be easy for you. Seems to me maybe u don't know so much after all.

Which one is FASTER? Revo
Which one can stand more abuse? Savage by far
Which one has less problems? Savage again by far
Which one is easier to work on? Savage
I have owned both of these trucks and i like both of them but the savage will kick the revo's butt in anything but top speed and cornering. I put in the Axial .28 into my savage and now i can pull on the revo a little bit but that was before the 3 speed tranny now i can barely get it into 3rd gear and i kill stock revo's. But both are good i just recomend the Savage (its funner!)

Also agree that the savage can handle more abuse by far.
Easier to work on is a revo by far no doubt about it. your probably more used to working on the savy, had it longer or what ever but the revo super easy to work on when you know what bolts you need to take out for a certain job instead of tearing it all down.
your comparing apples to oranges with a hopped up motor and a 3 speed just to beat a stock revo. But if i was going to only bash and not want to beat my buds in a race i would buy a savage if i was going to do it all over again. But im going to buy a Revo to keep my friends at bay as soon as i got the cash and give my tmaxx to my son.

RE: Revo 3.3 OR Savage SS 4.6?
I have owned both cars and i sold my savage so i can buy a revo and i couldn't be happier.Having exprience with both i would say the revo wins overall because its much easier to work on and handles twice as good.If i had to say one bad thing about the revo is im not a fan of the small block, i loved my savage mainly because of the power it put out.But soon i will be upgrading to a bigger engine then my 3.3.People say the savage is sooo tough and it is but the revo is just as tough and i know that because i don't race my revo i bash it and it stands up for anything.

RE: Revo 3.3 OR Savage SS 4.6?
in the contest of speed there is no doubt that the revo is faster, even with the savage having the 3 speed it still won't outdo a revo in the speed department, the revo is lighter, you can get them to 45 mph stock despite what a lot of people say, it just involves a perfect tune on a good cool day.
durability the savage wins out without a doubt, but not by much, the revo is made of weaker parts, but because most of the parts are inside the chassis, or not there (ie. the shocks are inside the chassis so no threat of the shafts getting bent, and no shock tower at all to break), you can bash the hell out of the revo, and the most likely part to be broke is proberly a pushrod, cheaper to replace then a shock shaft, all that said though, the svage as long as your not running head on into trees is the more durable truck.
problems out of the box, they're are about equal, the savage has the diffs, spur ect, the revo has the ez start wires, the wheels and tires suck, and it's a pain to work on the back suspension because you have to take the pipe off.
easier to work on go's to the revo, there is no contest here lol, the only truck out there easier to work on id proberly the t maxx, but we don't wanna go getting one of them lol.
