Servos Failed Again
How long should servos normally last, bearing in mind the cars are used for maybe an hr or so every week?
Having replaced 2 servos and 1 receiver on my 1/6 th nitro buggy and now a 3rd servo on my son’s 1/8 th nitro buggy things are becoming a little expensive. It seems the steering servos fail and then the throttle servos will then also fail a week or so later
Both cars were bought brand new and are both less then six months old.
When I purchased the cars I was supplied with 5cell batteries and a Pro peak fast charger
As advised I only ever charge the batteries at 2a for 20mins then the charger auto cuts out anyway.
Links below to the mentioned parts and charger/batt being used. (reference only)

Am I just having bad luck or do these servo units normally fail so often
Or is it the charger/battery isn’t compatible?
Any help greatly appreciated

RE: Servos Failed Again
You should be charging it for 30-36 minutes. Also, most likely your battery pack is just running out fast, try recharging it more often.

If you're talking about breaking, then I don't see that battery voltage would be a problem. Batteries get weak, servos stop working. Seems you're having servos break. I suggest you check the EPA on your transmitter. Don't let your servos try to drive your steering or throttle beyond what the mechanical limit is. If you don't have a transmitter where you can adjust the end point adjustment, you're out of luck.

RE: Servos Failed Again
I only charge my 5 cell packs at 1.2 amps and was told by the battery manufacture not to go over 1.5 amps. I use a peak charger and after each day of running I discharge them. I have gotten as much as 4 years out of a cheap battery pack. All so the servos you have listed are not what I would call real good servos. What radio are you using and does it have where you can set the end point? If not then you are putting excusive stress on cheap servos.
Decent to good servos cost from $80 to $120 US dollars. Get some high end Hitec, Airtronics or Futaba.

RE: Servos Failed Again
As the others have said check your end points. I would also suggest you buy a quality servo. They are expensive but a better option in the long run. I have had 3 servo's fail in my cars. They were all the cheaper models, since buying higer end digital servos I have not had a single failure.
