Winter Bash 2004 - Wanna come?
Winter RCNT/RCU Bash, January 2004
When: 4 day weekend from JAN8th - JAN11th.
Where: Orlando, FL - where it is still nice out, about 60degrees
Boggy Creek Raceway
The track has been rented for 4 days, as well as a 4 acre field for Aircraft.
For the wives/children: I would like to plan one day or evening to attend one of the theme parks. I can get discounts due to my Work, so we can get tickets in advance and save some cash.
The central hotel will be the Airport Holiday Inn Select. Rooms are available for 89.00 per night.
I can also pick anyone up who needs a ride from the airport, and help anyone get rental cars if they want them.
======================================
Post here if this is something you think you might be interested in.
I know we have about 3 or 4 of us who live in the central florida area, so that is already a good start
Here are some photos of the track where the bash will be held:
Ok everyone, here is the hotel I would recommend for people coming to the Winter Bash. It is located about 1 mile from the airport, about 2 miles from my home, and about 6 miles from the Track where we will be bashing.
It is a Holiday Inn Select
Rooms are 89.00 per night. There is no additional charge for multiple people per room.
Here are some photos:
Here is a link for more info, as well as reservations.

I figure for one of the days, we can doa tourist thing. Have it narrowed down, but need some input as to what everyone would rather do.
We can: Go to Universal Islands of adventure theme park.
Go to Kennedy Space Center to see the Shuttle
Go on an Airboat ride and see some alligators
Also - Who here is a drinker, and who isnt? Do we want to go downtown, or to city walk one of the nights?
Another thing - although it might be cold - do we have anyone coming that hasnt seen the beach? it is about 45 minutes away.
Finally - what hotel ratings does everyone want to stay at? Should i be searching for the cheapest possible, or does everyone want something a lil nicer? also - how many miles away from my house and the track is someone willing to stay, for a cheaper rate? lemmi know.
Here are some websites for the various things i listed to do:

Damn..thats a really nice track and you put alot of thought into the event...very nice.I doubt I'll have my truck by then but I might try to come down for a night or two to check it out anyway depending on my money situation at the time.I'm a drinker of legal age and city walk is always cool so I'll try to call my friend down there and see what he's doin and I'll let you know.

When I die, if there is a heaven, I hope it looks just like that track! Better yet, just bury me under the table top! Nitro, are you planning any other bashes after this one. That's the weekend of my youngest sons birthday but if there is a chance that you are planning another one for a different time, I can gaurantee you 3 people that will show up with buggies and beer goggles!

scale - this track and where i live is right in the MIDDLE of the state. it is an equal distance for everyone. Why not come? BTW - i regularly travel to FT Myers, Miami, Pensecola and the like for races, so it isnt that far.

Yeah, I wanna come! ... but I can't. We had a bash up in New York that NA attended. It was a lot of fun. NA flew up all the way from Florida. I wish I could recipricate and fly down to FL for some awsome Buggy Track action, but it's just not possible with vacation schedule and finances. Good Luck with the bash NA!

I think you mean "Welcome to RCU" LOL.
Yeah I'd love to race on that track. It looks so nice. It wouldn't be anything special though. I suck. LOL. I can count on one hand the number of times I was able to get to the track last season. It'll be different next season. [>:]
Have fun at your Bash.

Definitely agree with you scale!!!
I don't know of any tracks that look that nice in cali. Wish I could find some. Although I think that there will be a pretty nice track at RCX.
I wish I could go to RCX but I don't think that I will be able to.
By the way, that tracks looks like fun and a really nice setup. You are very lucky Nitro, to have nice tracks around you.

RE: Winter Bash 2004 - Wanna come?
thanks guys. just to make u more jealous. here is a sprinkling of what Orlando has to offer. All these tracks are within 10 minutes of my home:
Lakeland Speedway
Superior Raceway
Full Throttle Raceway
Boggy creek raceway
Sanford raceway
Then - just as we are getting over the shock of all this, they decide to build another RC Amusement park about 20 minutes away, on the north side of orlando. It will have an indoor carpet track, and outdoor nitro track, an outdoor nitro offroad buggy track, and an outdoor dirt oval. along with this, it will have over 30 TV's, a video arcade, and full parts depot. u can read about it here:

Do i live in a great community or what???

How much would a plane ticket cost to get to Florida from California?
Not that I would be able to go this time but maybe next time.

Pretty cheap.
Are you going to do something like this next year? I will be 18 by then.
By the way, the link to the RC Amusment Park doesn't work for me.
