I wish that I could have something go right for a change but I ques that is too much to ask.
I'm trying to assemble my wing halves and the holes the joiners go in are too small. It's pretty sad when a person can't even get past the first step without some kind of hang up.
I ques I will call Morris hobbies tomorow and see about a new kit.

I don't know about the arf....but in the kit the instructions tell you that the joiner will not fit without "sanding and fitting"....
next time order there new knife, ready to fly,engine of your choice installed,radio of your choice installed,custom color scheme,battery's charged,fueled up,engine running.....and a personal assistant to hand you the transmitter

'Trace the rib shape from the plan and copy it onto the supplied balsa sheet';
. . . and they had forgotten to put the required thickness of sheet in the box!
By the way, I tried to get somebody to write this for me, but couldn't. . . Sheesh! . . . Call this a good forum?

Fastest way to get a nuked post is to personally slam folks.
Look, I agree that some folks need a ribbing, and Cap232 is taking it pretty well, so far. Opinions vary in this hobby, and many have different expections.

A.R.T.F. AFTER REBIULDING THE FU%*ER
This is the chance you take when following other builders work,
you have to accept what they have done!!
or adapt and overcome.
a little sanding and tweaking here and there is as per usual in most cases,
I am the type that cannot just accept it out of the box, i always end up improving it or personalizing it in some way to suit my needs ether aesthiccally or funtionally,
If you consider your self an aero modeller, then you can overcome these miner problems,
as for morris allowing this level of quality out of the factory gates,
WELL NOW!!
they will pay the heavy price, of product ridicule in this small market place," that is" the model aeroplane hobby.
no one will knock on the morris factory gates asking for quality improvments,
THEY JUST WONT BUY ANY THEM MORE!
ITS FUN TO FLY FUNFLY

I don't think he ever claimed to be an aeromodeler...
(tho he might be)
He bought an ARF because he didn't want to (or couldn't for one of many reasons) build it himself...
For his reward he is already getting a plane that is a full 1 lb. heavier than a kit build...
The he finds out that the joiner won't fit. Yes it's a minor thing and most guys would just sand it and go on...
But what if he had been waiting for 4 weeks to get it in... tomorrows the Big Annual Funfly and it's 7pm and he finds this out? What OTHER things might he find problematic?
I know SEVERAL TopCAP ARF's went out with half the manual WRONG... literally... the back half of it is for an a Knife... SO a fella could EASILY glue his wings together without the dihedral it requires, and glue in his stab as told only ot find out his elevators won't fit in the slot afterward!!!!
Bottom line is... the REASON ARFS have come a long way and are so nice today is because demands for a higher quality ARF have MADE them do so.
NOW.... to Morris' credit... I have found them to be VERY responsive and helpful. Their intention is to make a product that is clear to assemble and flies great. And I'm sure if the guy decides he can't deal with the adjustments required (however minor or major they may be) that Morris will hook him up.

I don't see the reason why some guys want to jump on Cap232CM ??? He just shared his experience and disappointment with us about his new plane and all (almost) he gets is negative comments. To be honest, I would be disappointed too. When buying an ARF I expect it to be "almost ready to fly" and not having to do more stuff then assembling, gluing, and installing (steps mentioned in the assembly manual). The ARF manufacturer has to make sure everything fits before boxing and selling. Unfortunately we all know that this is not always the case. Just my $0.02
Cap232CM : I would sand the joiner to fit before sending the whole plane back and go thru all the shipping and packing and claiming. But that is just what I would do. Sometimes a little sander or dremel tool does wonders

Thanks to everyone for your kind words of encouragement and support. I had to square up the holes with a file and now they fit perfect. I also talked to Morris Hobbies and they said the same thing. Morris has been great to deal with couldn't be a better company. Thanks again!

I think people have to keep in mind in order to keep costs down some arf manufactures will leave steps such as fitting a dihedral brace up to the purchaser. Keep in mind the A in ARF for almost. While it would be nice to have part A fit into part B perfectly on every arf made. My personal experience is something always needs to be trimmed fitted ect ect. Again if the manufacture would have to dry fit every part in every ARF the price of the arf would most likely double.
