What are the reasons that my Tmaxx 2.5 is stuck in reverse?

#1 Idle is too high? how high is TOO high?

#2 Bad servo?

#3 Weak receiver batteries?

anything else?

You want your idle as low as possible, but reliable.

If your servo fully moves in both directions, then it's good.

If your servo moves fully then it's not your batteries.

Check your servo linkage to make sure that the reverse engagement pin is fully sliding in both directions. You may need to adjust the collars to put more pressure on the springs.

Does it stay in reverse all the time, or if you try to put it in forward does it just not go at all?

It doesn't shift into forward at all! I brought it inside just as the rains came, put new batteries in it and all the linkage / servos, etc seem to be in working order......I'm hoping it was just weak batteries, because at the time, I couldn't see if the reverse rod was moving or not! Too much excitement going on...kid was running around in circles wanting to drive it...dog from down the street was running around chasing it and trying to bite the tires off of it....wife was saying something "important" the entire time.....hehe....neighbor was running around trying to catch his dog! Hopefully, when the rain stops and a few of the puddles dry a bit, I'll try it out again! By the way, how do you shut one of these things down? I tried to pinch the fuel line with no success?

Pinch the fuel line and hold it. It will take several seconds for the engine to quit. You can check the shift rod with the engine off. Turn on the transmitter, turn on the truck (not the engine) and flip it in and out of reverse with the transmitter. Is the ball cup on the servo linkage still attached to the shift rod? Is the rod moving fully in each direction?

I think the forward / reverse problem is solved? just needed a little adjustment. I idled it down to where it almost sounds like it wants to shut off, shifts fine now. When I was testing it out (remember...I had to wait for it to quit raining) I got a little anxious and ended up splashing through a pretty deep puddle! It was just a little deeper than the top of the tires. Anyway, shortly there after the Tmaxx went on autopilot and after it took the feet out from under a 5 year old....it went into a death spin and flipped over on it's back.....I tested out the pinch the fuel line technique and it seemed like it took forever. After clean up, I noticed that the servo that controls the throttle is acting kinda weird. Brake works fine but the throttle side crawls real slow when throttle is applied and returns back to "neutral" very fast. It's not the trim knob...I think / hope it's just because it got a "little" wet? Any idea on how to tell if a servo is really bad?

If it's wet, then open it up and dry it out with a hair dryer. If it still doesn't work right after it's dry, then it may be shot.

mine doesn't come out of reverse either, but i think it is my clutch bell, the spring is stretched i think

Just remove reverse from the truck all together. Your performance will go up and you wont have glitchy crap the reverse gears cause.
