Airwild MPL servo arms
Hi everyone,
I am going to buy Airwild MPL servo arms for my hitec HS-625MG and HS-6635HB servos.
On the Airwild website i saw the Hitec "+" arms. This means that the top of the servo spline has a "+" on it.
I suppose that the HS-625MG has it but i didn't see it on the karbonite-geared HS-6635HB servo.
Can anyone assure me that i need the Hitec "+" arms for the HS-625MG?
And does anyone know which type of arm i need for the HS-6635HB?
Thanks

I just some of those from Bill at Troy Built Models. He told me that unless you have older servos that the ones he has are the ones you need. I cant remember what the symbol was. Give Bill a call at TBM 941-342-8685

RE: Airwild MPL servo arms
My point is use plastic arms for the Karbonite geared servo as using metal is pointless.
The Karbonite gears are not all that strong.
Do a search here for failures.

I don't know what you're building, but there has been quite a bit of discussion over the Karbonite gears on the Hitec support forum of late.
While not initially pointed out by Hitec's website, they do not recommend Karbonite gears for gasser powered models. There are warnings about not using any thread locker as it will eat the material. There is also a recommendation that they not be used for models weighing over 12 lbs. (5.5kg? or so). While there has been some argument about that spec and how it applies, I personally just don't see using Karbonite gear servos due to their undesirable characteristics out weighing any positive ones IMHO...
Oh, when I called AirWild about that difference in the output shafts on Hitecs and my 5985's specifically, they said as has been mentioned already, that it only applied to older servos.

RE: Airwild MPL servo arms
I'm so tired of telling my Karbonite servo nightmare that happened on my first giant scale plane. Three words: DON't DO IT !!!
Hitec has awesome servos: Use the metal gear only unless it's .40-.60 size plane or smaller.
Also I have had no problems with any of the arms I have bought for any of my Hitec servos. Just get the ones for Hitec servos, that's it.
There was more of an issue with the JR 8611 servo splines than any Hitec IMO.
