G.P.Ultimate 160
I know there are a hundred posts on this plane ,but i'm going to ask the question again.
For normal sunday flying is it necessary to put a gasser on this plane or will anOS 160work.
Also do I have to make new wing joiners.
Mine are balsa with the lite ply for a backer.
I called G.P. and the person I talked just read out of a book and admitted he didnt know about this plane.
Any input is helpfull.
Thanks,hothead

The 1.60 would fly it, but not why bother unless you already have the engine. A DLE 55 would be cheaper in the long run, (a big savings in fuel costs) and alot more power for them long vertical lines. I had a 1.60FX in a mono wing plane that weighed about 14 pounds and I wasn't impressed. I sure wouldn't be happy with that engine in a bipe that would weigh similar but have alot more drag.

I agree with mrbigg.
I'd go gas. You'd be a lot more satisfied in the long run.
The DLE55 is the perfect match.
But the RL58 is an excellent engine and might save you a few dollars ($10) also.
Any of the modern 50-58 CC engines are excellent buys and will be much cheaper to operate and more fun in my opinion.
There's a thread about a mile long on this plane. Most are using gas and they say it's a perfect match.
I'd go gas and never look back.
Thanks
Barry

I did this plane with a DLE 55 and it truly is perfect with a CG spot on no weight added anywhere or things having to be shifted around! You would NOT be happy with a 1.60 on this plane....besides, who wants to deal with slime and expensive fuel?
