Tim I think that would be a excelent choice. You can allways throtal back. Nothing worse than an underpowered plane. I am flying a 72 in wingspan Islander with 2 40 two strokes and it weighs less than 7 pounds. I fly it most of the time at half throtal and it flys good. The C47 should weigh close to 12 pounds scaled out. Hope this helps

Hi!
I started building my Marutaka DC-3 in 1980 but other models took over and it lay resting for nearly 20 years until I finaly started building on it again for two years ago.
This time I decided to build it light and therefore carved away everytning not necesary on it. I also decided that the original aluminum cowl and the wooden structure that made up the rearmotorsection was not enough scale like and made glassfiber molds for them instead.
I plan to use two OS 26 FS fourstroke engines in it and aim for 3kg total flying weight.
I have flown many twins before and have learned that twins does not requiere as much power that you would thought .
And I plan to fly on the wing......I do not want to have a highspeed aerobatic aircraft.
I use the Swiss Giesendanner electrical retracts (retracts in 5 seconds) and have made up my own steel fueltanks that sit right behind the firewalls (4oz tanks). The fuel tank placement is a problem on the DC-3 as you well know.
If you are interested in glassfibercowls for the engine and rear engine bays ...and the oilcooler under the engine you can call me

Regards!
