Battery charging
I have new batteries for electric buggy. All are Nimh. One is 3600 and other is 3000.
I have a Twin Peak charger(Dynamite rc) to chare them.
The directions/manual from Dynamite is kind of weak. How long should I charge them and how hot should they get before I should disconnect them? Wife disconnected from charging because she said they were not only hot, but odor was being emitted. The "charging" light was still on when she did this. Had been plugged in for about 30 minutes. Also, there seem to be no adjusting knobs for different # of cells, etc. I have a hobbico accucycle for my nicads which is very easy to use, but I am having problems with the twin peak charger.
I am a long time rc plane pilot that has mostly dealt with nicads, although the trend is moving up to Nimh. I have heard some talk about the heat risk that Nimh have. I am a newbie to rc cars. Please advise.
Thanks

RE: Battery charging
That is a peak charger. I've nevr owned a dynamite charger my self but two friends have and didn't have any problem with them. how old is the charger? Another thing you can consider is putting a fan on your batteries as they're charging. thats what I do. I would keep an eye on your batteries while they're charging though.

RE: Battery charging
I'm guessin the ofna charger is desinged for reciever packs. it would take approximitly one lifetime (give or take) to fill a 3000mah battery.
