LOL

2.5cc = Nitro Engine
1/10 = Nitro
Glow igniter included = Nitro

It has Nitro written all over it

EDIT: Just buy standard car glow fuel at your local hobby shop. They will help you out

I would have researched a bit further before buying something, this way I know what I'm getting in to. Since I have never heard of Smartech, it is probably of poor quality/made in China ect. That explains the box and manual thing.

Instead of driving out to your LHS order from Tower Hobbies or similar sites. You can save a LOT of money this way if you buy in quantity. I would not risk blending your own fuel to some one that is new to RC Nitro.

just go back on ebay and type in nitro fuel and you will find the fuel you need most plases will mail order it now

i would suggest that you only run it on propper nitro glow fuel as anything else may damage it, the oil is aready included mix into the fuel.

if you are still not sure as to what to run it on post a photo of the engine or give us a discription then someone will be able to tell you for definate

in thory the engine will run on pure methenol but would in practece probably seize up within seconds as there are lots of different oils in propper nitro fuel and there are other things blended into the fuel as well.

as for 2t machine oil the only reference i have ever seen for it is on anything to do with smartech so it is ether somthing they have made up or they are the only people that tell you the techinal term for the oil found in nitro fuel but to be honest i wouldnt worry about it as you probaly wouldnt be able to buy it

I have no clue what 2T machine oil is. I would also not follow anything they recommend. Use a mix of castor and synthetic oil instead.

Methyl Hydrate is Methanol and it is the compound used in nitro fuel.

try this i know its in england but it may help you find what you are looking for this is the same stuff i use in my revo but with your car you could go down to as low as 10% nitro

Nore nirto % = more power but wares engine quicker
less nirto % = lesser powere but longer engine life

ORIGINAL: yzf68
but im just confused how is say "1:10 scale gas powered 4wd car" on the box...
1:10 scale - is the size comparison with the real thing. In otherwords the real thing is 10X bigger.

Gas powered - is the false advertisement that poor companies like Smartech use to attract new RC'ers.
60mph - is another example

4WD car - Apparently this buggy is Four Wheel Drive.

It's the first time I've heard of Smartech and I've already drawn many conclusions about them. It doesn't sound good, my friend.

As far as fuel goes, I would find out if your LHS could mail fuel to you. I know many shops mail products but I'm unsure if they mail fuel.

You want to use fuel made for 2 cycle glow engines, preferably a blend made for cars. I DON"T recommend trying to mix your own fuel.

The fuel mixtuel is methanol with probably 20% Synthetic oil (possible has some castor oil) and a mixture of 15% to 30% nitromethane.

If there isn't a hobby shop close, your best bet is to order it from a reputable mail order hobby supply dealer.

go to tower hobbies. www.towerhobbies.com search for Traxxas 20 % nitro fuel. buy it. order 3 or 4 McCoy MC59 glow plugs or some OS 8 glow plugs with it. you ll need them. search for sealing a nitro motor. Find,READ and DO it.. then search for Tuning guides for nitro motors. you ll need that too.

lastly DONT GET FUSTRATED AND GIVE UP. nitro is a PITA at times, but its also a great blast

Mixing your own fuel is actually fairly common but unless drag racing or sprint cars (real 1/1) are common near you finding nitro will be difficult and you'd have to got your hobby store to get the oil to mix it anyway. Here is a search I did on making fuel its interesting but probably not allot of help I've considered it, my dad knows some drag racers but nitro has to be bought in quantity to make it cheaper than buying it.

There is an entire discussion on Smartech buggies. I'm glad you are psyched, but you have to know what you are into:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_1959677/tm.htm

You need help, and you need someone to teach you about nitro powered vehicles, which run on 'nitro' fuel, which is more properly called glow fuel. Glow fuel contains lubrication pre-mixed.

The Smarech line of cars ain't the best...and many would argue they are outright junk. You CAN use it, but with no experience and no help nearby, you MUST do some serious reading.

You have just purchased something that requires you to be the following:

Head mechanic, financer, driver, pit chief, parts supplier and tuner.

If it helps, I have heard of smartech. For fuel just get regular nitro hobby fuel for cars (planes is cheaper but theres mixed opinions if it works or not). Hobby fuels come in different percentages of oil from 5?-20% stick with the 15-20% range until you feel comfortable tuning your engine, you should probably stay with that % because I doubt the engine is very good. Just from looking at it, I think it looks pretty solid, nice and overbuilt like a stampede, should be pretty durable. Make sure to break in you engine before you go and run it, or youll be really pissed when your car only lasts 10 runs.

Kool, glad to hear you got it, be patient on gettin goin.
Id go to the link Philster posted and read up on it ,,,the china manual will probally be too confusing ! (poor translation)
One tip, dont yank the pull start like it was a lawnmower, the cord is thin and can snap.
and dont pull it all the way out till it stops.
giving it short quick pulls works best.
good luck and have fun !
