4-tec rear belt too loose HELP!!
Hey guys,
I just got an used electric 4 tec from my cousin. He told me it worked fine but the rear drive belt was loose. I picked up a new belt and put it in....but its still loose. Is there anyway to adjust the tension on the rear belt??

RE: 4-tec rear belt too loose HELP!!
I have never heard of the car ur referring to let alone know anything about it but im guessing when u say rear belt u mean u have 2 belts. One that runs from the spur to the front and from the spur or what ever to the bak. So i would ask ur cuz if he ever made any adjustments to that rear gear like set it foward some or something. Or maybe he wrecked it and pushed that gear foward in somw way just enough that the belt is loose on it. Or maybe u just happened to buy another crapy belt or the wrong one. Like i said i dont know anything about that car so dont quote me on none of this. I was just throwing u some suggestions. Im sure there is someone in this forum somewhere that knows what they are talking about. Well you have yourself a good day.

You may be able to find your answer by going to traxxas' website and looking through the manuals and diagrams of your car.

Look at the rear outside bearing of the rear diff. You have to completely dissasemble the rear. where the bearings are sitting from the inside there are two plastic holders that can be moved to tighten the belt, make sure you put the holders in the same spot as one another. You may have to do this a couple times to check for tension. [8D]
