Sounds like fun, and less than 4-hours drive for me. I'm putting it on my calendar.

Looks like I might have to step up the production of my E-2C Hawkeye. I was shooting for a mid-late summer test flight. This is very close to my house. Count me in!!

but somehow me thinks it is still a tad far from Argentina....

Is the meet at the field where they used to hold the old big bird meet? Seems like it is south of town, maybe even over in Ringgold, GA. I used to come up to that one. I'll try to make it.

Bill Robison and I are also trying to get a multi-engine meet set up in Pensacola some time this year. It's about time the multi-engine polots got together.

Let's see, can I get both the P-61 and my "new" vintage Deullist rocketship up and flying by June 25th?

Nothing like a challenge...

Ed, what timeframe are you thinking for a meet in Pensacola?

Walt:

I'll answer for Ed, we're sharing blame at the moment.

The middle of August is looking good, either the weekend of 13-14 or 20-21.

Do you have a preference there?

Bill.

Bill,

No preference on an actual date- I don't plan that far in advance! I was just wondering about the approximate timeframe.

Ohhh....and not 4 hours from me. Maybe I'll have my Twin-Air "Newton's Promise" finished by then! I'll have to put it on my calendar!

Walt, Steve, and all:

Tlking erlier to Ed M, he was thinking September might be better, both for milder temperatures and lower motel rates after Labor Day.

Comments?

Bill was talking August, but I think he fried his brain last year flying in the heat. In August, I get up at 5AM, get flying by 7AM and leave at 0930 for some air. Better yet, I go fly seaplanes. That is cooler.

Ed:

Yes sir. The few unfried cells agree that September would be better.

For the information of the rest of you, Ed gets up in the middle of the night to go fly. In the heat of summer I stay in bed until a decent hour, and fly in the afternoon. The LATE afternoon. That time of year we still have light to fly util 8 PM or a little after.

September it is! Better for me--more time to finish my TwinAir. I'm looking forward to meeting and thanking everyone who's helped me build my first twin.

Robby, Bill, Ed-

You guys are doing an outstanding job at setting up not one, but two meets convenient to us in Georgia! Its definitely adding to my motivation to get all my twin airplanes ready to fly. Now I just need to figure out how to stop my job from interfering with airplane work.

Guys,

We are looking at either September 17th or 24th for a meet in Pensacola. There will be an option of flying the second day.

Does anyone have any heartburn with either of these dates?

We have an IMAC contest scheduled Sept 24th/25th. I usually take pics for the club website but could pass this duty on to someone else. So no heartburn, but it would probably be a bit easier for me to make if it were the 17th.

Bill- I hope it doesn't rain that day, I would hate to take all the blame!

Robby, don't forget to post the June event in the RCU calendar. I just posted our Spring fly-in and noticed it wasn't there yet. June isn't that far away, its time to begin getting the word out!

Robby,
Mason is just south of Lansing in the southern part of the state. We have relatives south of Knoxville so we might be able to combine a family visit with the twin meet.

Hang loose on the date of the Pensacola Twin meet. We'll get back when we get a conflict free date. El Presidente has nixed the 17th, so we are looking.
