Here are pic's of my Ju-88 that I have been working on and off for 4 years. Its almost finished. I have it all painted and ready for the winter scheme. Yes the Ju-88 normally had a 2 color green on the upper surfaces, but since it will be mostly white I decided to go with just one green.
The plane has a 126" wing span and is just under 1/6th scale. It weighs now at 44lbs and all I need to add is the batteries. It is balanced now without having to add any weight to the nose. It is painted all in latex paints even the bright yellow. It is powered with 2 G-38's and has robart retracts. It has all eight gear doors, the front doors stay open with the gear legs and the rear doors open and close just as a P-51 would.
I have a longer thread on rcscalebuilder website:

I have finally finished the winter scheme on my Ju-88. I have just finished installing the reciever, switches and batteries. I am just about ready to fly it. I test ran the engines today and it went well. I plan to test fly it on the 16th of April.......

My Ju-88 finally flew this last weekend. I went to a fly-in on Friday and Saturday in Greenville, SC. They have a great runway. Its 1200 X 100' Bermuda grass and the area is wide open. I took several other planes so I would get rid of my nerves about flying at a new place. The wind varied directions throughout the day and was about 10mph. I have been flying for about 18 years but always get nervous with a new bird.
I ran into a gentleman named Eric Myers. He had been flying a Ziroli C-45 that afternoon and he flew it great. I asked him to look over my plane and see what he thought about the way the engines run. They are pretty close to the same rpm. I have one that come up just a little faster than the other. He said things looked ok for the test hop.
I then asked Eric if he would couch me if I started to do something stupid. He said he would be glad to. I usually have a bad habit of making my first fast taxi my first flight. But he stood with me and had me do several fast taxis to see how the plane would react.
I would line the plane up and start advancing the throttles. It tracked pretty straight when I use enough rudder and it did not tend to make a left turn. The tail came up really easy and the plane would get light on the wheels. After about 4-5 runs it was time to attempt the flight.
I moved a the plane a little further down the runway. I started advancing the throttle. The tail came up, it tracked straight down the runway. The plane lifted off the runway at a good climb rate. I hit the retract button the rear gear doors came open the wheels retracted and all eight doors closed. I made a long climb before turning to the left. I had to add about 3-5 clicks of up elevator and a couple clicks of alieron and she flew nice and straight. I have 2 G-38's with 16x11 props. The plane is not really fast but not flying at a stall either. I made circuits for about 5 mintues. I tried the flaps, and with full flap there was no attitude change of the plane. I decided to call a landing. I hit the retracts they came down. I made another circuit and set up for the landing. I made a very long approach with full flap. Eric noticed I was looking a little slow so I aborted the attempt and went around .
I set up again and he told me to keep more throttle through just before setting the plane down. The plane was right on track with full flap and just above 1/4 throttle. It settled really nice and slow. Just before setting it down pulled the throttle on down and was going to grease the landing. as the plane set down the right gear easily folded backand it landed on the right nacelle. The plane was so slow it made a gentle turn and stopped. I went over and picked up that side and of course the gear then locked.
Over all the flight went really well. I thanked Eric for his guidence . It has been about 8 years since I flew a large twin. I only have 2 pic's of it flying right now .....

I started a post on the gas engine forum about this. I am using Mejzlic 16x11 props. On one engine I was getting 7600 rpm's and on the other about 7200. So I was backing off the strong engine via the radio to match them. I broke a prop after the first flight. They are so expensive. I am looking for other options.
I just ordered a Master airscrew 3 blade with a 16x 10 pitch. $14.95 each. Mejzlic is about $50 each, if you can find them... If I get close to the same RPM I will change to the Master airscrew. I have also considered Zinger props....

Zingali/Zinger/J&Z sells three blade wooden props at a price lower than Mejzlic sells two bladed ones. You might check with them. They also supply the same sizes in reverse pitch for counter rotating engines.

I talked to Zinger the other day. I was not impressed with the knowledge the person had about the prop and engine. I have used the Zinger 3 blade in the past with good results. I may go with Zinger if the Master airscrew ( $14.95 each) does not pan out...Zingers price is $39 for the 16x8 3 blade and replacement blades are $3.50 each. That is reasonable. I wish I just knew how well the Zinger pulled before I spent that Much money.

If you buy a J&Z propellor, a Zingali, or a Zinger brand, they all come from Zinger.
I like the Zinger composite three blade props better than the MAS, They are stiffer, and seem better quality to me. This is not to say the MAS aren't good props, just that they are made in more of a rush and need more attention before they are ready to fly. Rough edges, balance, so forth.
I wouldn't hesitate to run either.
The ones I avoid are the rotary lawn mower blades from APC.

WOW! Its hard to believe its been 2 years since its first flight. Well I had an engine out on landing and did not realize it when I throttled up to go around AT Warbirds Over Delaware last year and I pancaked the Ju-88 in. It poped the sheeting on the center wing and other moderate damage.
Well I have all the repairs done and It about to start its second life...
I chose a different theater of Operation for the paint scheme...
