T-maxx- what to expect
I just picked up a used T-maxx 3.3 for $200. It runs great. What parts should i stock up on. And what are some good upgrades for it. Thanks in advance.

My advice would be to just "run it" as is, and see what you think. If you like it, just run until something wears out, breaks, or otherwise needs replacement. By that time you'll know what you might like better, and then change it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

get a 6 volt 5 cell hump pack and charger to improve your steering power and run time without the hassle of AA's and for performance of the engine get a better pipe like the THS racing pipe or somthing similar. I did a bunch of upgrades to mine and continue too in hopes of making it as bullet proof as possible because when i get the time to run i want to run and not repair.

Also im not sure if there has been any mods done to your truck but in good traction areas such as a street etc, you will find that the stock drive shafts are completly inadequate and will twist apart from the torque. The best solution I have found so far is buying cvd drive shafts, I got a kit off of ebay that came with cvd axles aswell for 75.00 but you can get just the drive shafts too.

do lots of searches for every word or product or question there is. search Tmaxx then read there, then research the problems further that were discused in those post. read ,read , read
then go get your self about 500 bucks in crap off ebay and you will be on your way.
but rite off the bat, get your self a few main drive shafts, the ones on the transmission.

RE: T-maxx- what to expect
i just purchased a t-maxx 3.3 about 2 months ago. I'm pretty impressed with the truck. I have found a few downfalls though. The 5 cell pack was a nice upgrade that traxxas gave to us new purchasers. I would definitely recommend that. Also i would recommend looking into the proline steering kit. I have only driven my truck a few times and have not beat on it and the screws were already starting to pull out of the stock setup. The proline is much tighter. Other than that everything else seems to work fine. Although i can see myself getting the new traxxas CVD's and center shafts when mine wear out. I'd run it like it is until you break something then upgrade. I believe that has been said a lot on here.

Iv'e had an old T-maxx for a while now and stripped a few spur gears, bent a shock and bent the front scratch plate.I found that using the strip of paper to set the gear mesh gap works and haven't chewed any more spur's. Just got done with a new show body.

Ive had a t-maxx 3.3 for 7 months and I have had a blast so far and these t-maxx's are built like a tank but the only thing I have been replacing are the differencial cups. So I would recomend getting the aluminum cup from addicted2rc.com for $30
