Default GP 38% Extra

I just saw an ad in the Tower site for a new Great Planes 38% Extra due out in late February.

OK, that's nice, but it also says it's covered in "... High-gloss lightweight heat shrink film..." with no mention of the word "Monokote".

Comments?

There was a review of this bird in the latest issue of MAN. I am pretty sure they said it was covered in Monokote.

"THEY" say a lot of things...

It's listed in the magazine as a "First Look".

Sounds like someone let the cat out of the bag a little early, AGAIN....

Dick I thought the review was less than positive.
Glezellis talked a lot about the stalling of the plane when going into the wind / or with the wind.
He even mentions how to land the plane with a little blip of the throttle to achieve a 3 – point landing.
I thought this was strange for such a large plane especially an Extra. Every Extra I have owned have been floaters from 1/4 to 40%.
They also never mention a weight in the stats and only a blip in the text and even that was not exact. (35 lbs)
The word on the internet street says it’s fat. (38 without cans)
I like the plane and the scheme and I hope it’s a great seller, the more planes out there of that size the better the market will be.
Monocote of Ultracote is fine with me, as long it ain't that stuff Fliton uses.
